The Time of Fajr

1. Fajr Time starts when whiteness appears on the eastern horizon, that is where the sun rises, and the whiteness rapidly spreads horizontally.
2. After the appearance of this whiteness, in a short span of time it becomes light.
3. This expanding whiteness heralds the time of Fajr.
4. Fajr time remains till sunrise.
5. When the disc of the sun starts appearing the time of Fajr ends.
6. It is better for women to read their Fajr Salaat once the time sets in, that is when it is still dark.
7. For men the rule is to perform Fajr Salaat when it becomes a bit light, not when it is still dark.
