The Ideal Person for Company

Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) gave mothers an outstanding position and raised them as beings of great praise and honour. He said that Jannah lies at the feet of the mother, so that one can receive such high reward for serving, obeying and honouring mothers.

He has recommended her as the ideal person for our company in the path of goodness.

Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) reported: “A man came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and said: ‘O Rasulullah! Who is the most proper person I should associate with for my benefit?’ Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) replied: ‘Your mother.’

Then he asked: ‘Who comes next?’ ‘Your mother,’ came the reply.

The man again asked: ‘Who is next?’ Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) again replied: ‘Your mother.’

The man put this question the fourth time and the reply was: ‘Your father.’ “

This repetition of the answer three times shows the consideration, respect, honour and love that mothers are entitled to.
