Features of Haidh

1. There are three types of blood peculiar to women.
2. These are: haidh, nifaas and istihaadhah.
3. Haidh is the blood which emanates from the womb of a woman.
4. Haidh does not appear before 9 years of age.
5. The blood, furthermore, comes out to the external part of the genital.
6. As long as the blood remains inside the private part, the rulings of haidh do not apply.
7. This blood is furthermore not due to giving birth.
8. The blood of haidh is ill-smelling.
