The Fragrance of the Fasting Person’s Mouth
Reading Time: < 1 minute
- Nabi (Alaihis Salaam) said: “The smell coming out of the mouth of a fasting person is more loved by Allah Ta’ala than the fragrance of musk.”
- The interpretation of this Hadeeth is that on the Day of Qiyaamat the person who fasted in this world will receive for the smell which came out of his/her mouth due to fasting, a fragrance which will be more wonderful than the fragrance of musk.
- That fragrance will be loved by Allah.
- The smell was the means of attaining the fragrance.
- Hence, Allah Ta’ala loves the smell more than musk.
- The purport of the Hadeeth is not that you should keep your mouth smelling by not rinsing your mouth and not use the miswaak.
