The Time a Fast Starts

Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. In the Shariah, a fast commences with true dawn (that is when the time of Fajr commences).
  2. Hence, it is permissible to eat, drink, etc. as long as it is not dawn (Fajr).
  3. Some women are under the impression that in the later part of the night (that is at Sehri time), once a person finishes having Sehri and makes the intention for fasting, then it is not permissible to eat and drink thereafter.
  4. This notion is wrong.
  5. As long as it is not the time of Fajr, one can eat and drink, irrespective of one having already made the intention of fasting or not.
