A Shield from Jahannam

In one Hadeeth the following is stated about fasting:

  1. Fasting is a shield from Jahannam.
  2. So, if a person starts the day fasting then he should not do anything ignorantly that day.
  3. If someone acts ignorantly towards him (the fasting person), he should not revile that person (in retaliation) and abuse him.
  4. He should (simply) reply, “I am fasting”.
