The Size of the New Moon

1. It is wrong to say in regard to the new moon, “The moon is very big; it appears to be a day old.”
2. It comes in the Hadeeth that this will be a sign of Qiyaamat. [That is, people will comment on the largeness of the new moon, implying that it is the second night’s moon.]
3. When Qiyaamat is close then people will start saying such things. [In fact, we have already heard people say so. We can thereby conclude that the end of the world is near. May Allah Ta’ala keep us in his protection.]
4. In short, the size of the new moon is not to be taken into consideration.
