Corrupt Intentions in Wearing Garments

The third vice (pertaining to garments and dressing) is to wear extravagant clothes for show, for name and fame, and to display one’s affluence. Doing something for name and fame is an evil thing.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Whoever wears clothes of show in this world, Allah will make that person wear clothing of disgrace on the Day of Qiyaamah.” (Mishkaat)
