Don’ts for a Woman in Ihraam

  1. A woman should never do iztiba’ and ramal.
  2. Iztiba’ to wear the Ihraam in the fashion of males, that is, to take the shawl or ihraam towel under the left armpit and throw it over the left shoulder.
  3. Ramal is to walk in the first three rounds of Tawaaf briskly with the chest out.
  4. She should also not run between the Meelain Akhdhrain – the Greenlight Area.
  5. Between the green lights she should walk normally.
  6. She should not kiss the Hajar-e-Aswad when there are men around.
  7. She should not even touch the Hajar-e-Aswad in the presence of other males.
  8. She should not read the two rakaats Salaat of Tawaaf behind the Maqaam-e-Ibraheem when there are crowds of males there. [She should read the two rakaats in some secluded or less crowded area of Masjidul Haraam.]
