The Noble Nursling and Hazrat Halimah’s Love and Care
In view of these happenings, Hazrat Halimah became convinced that this was no ordinary child, rather he was a gifted boy whose star of blessings would shine so brightly making everyone else’s blessings become pale.
She brought up Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with much affection and love. She never ever hit him, said anything bad or looked at him with anger. He never did anything that would cause her to react in such a way.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) never soiled his clothes; he had fixed times for relieving himself which Hazrat Halimah knew. He never cried like other children did, causing trouble to their mothers and wet-nurses.
Hazrat Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) had another baby who she also fed along with Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) always drank from one breast and left the other breast for the other baby.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) grew up and gradually started walking. When he was two years old then Hazrat Halimah thought that this child needs to see his mother. With this intention she went to Makkah.
Aaminah, the mother of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), became very happy on seeing her beloved child playing and in perfect health. Although, for such a mother who does not even have a husband and only one child, it is very difficult to part with her beloved child, nonetheless Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) asked permission from her to take him back as the air and water in Makkah were bad at that time. Hazrat Aaminah gave permission and Hazrat Halimah returned with him back to her village.
