The Time With Hazrat Halimah
The foster brother of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), Hazrat Halimah’s son Abdullah, used to go out to graze the goats, and sometimes Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) would accompany him.
Hazrat Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) looked after Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) for another three years.
At five years of age, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was very intelligent and understanding. He was always clean and loved helping others.
At this stage, Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) saw it appropriate to return Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) to his mother in Makkah. She accompanied Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) back to Makkah, and in the sixth year after the Year of the Elephant[1], when he was five years and 2 days old, this precious Amaanat which makes the heavens and earth pale into insignificance, was returned to the care of his mother.
Although there was no money and wealth here, Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) was served by Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in such a way that making her happy was sufficient. But in contrast to the sadness that overcame Halimah (Radhiyallahu anha) at having to leave such a blessed, fortunate and understanding boy, that happiness disappeared. Although she was very grieved at having to leave Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), she eventually returned to her home.
(Nêk Beebiya)
[1] A kaafir king built a structure in opposition to the Ka’bah Shareef. A traveller threw excrete on the structure and went away. A few days later, the structure caught on fire. The king, seething with anger, took an army of elephants and set out to demolish the Ka’bah. Allah Ta’ala destroyed him.
In Surah Alam Tara Kaifa the episode is mentioned. That year is called Aamul Feel – the Year of the Elephant. In the same year Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was born.
