  1. Together with making Aqeeqah for the newborn baby the baby’s hair should also be shaven.
  2. After shaving the hair, it should be weighed and its equivalent weight in gold or silver, or the equivalent in cash should be given in charity.
  3. If one wishes then saffron could be rubbed on the head of the child. This was also a practice of the Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu anhum).
