• Her name was Safiyyah.
• She became accustomed to Ibaadat and inclined towards Taa’at from a very young age by virtue of her home environment in which the Zikr of Allah Ta’ala would permeate the four walls of the house.
• Her first Mu’allimah was her honourable mother who herself was a Waliyyah and who ensured that everything done in the house was in conformity to the Sunnah and according to the Shariah.
• Safiyyah learnt to read the Qur’aan Majeed by her honourable mother and completed it by her.
• She then desired to learn the Qur’aan’s translation by her father who taught her the translation of the Qur’aan with the necessary explanations.
• He would, furthermore, explain the relevant masaail and impart advice and exhortations towards practising the Shariah and fearing the disobedience of Allah Ta’ala.
• In his lessons, he would emphasize on inculcating beautiful character.
• She completed the Qur’aan with understanding when only 13 years of age.
• She was very alert and diligent in housework.
• With her exemplary character and ways, she became adored by everyone.
• As she became older, her Taqwa increased and her haya and iffat (modesty and chastity) became greater.
• She learnt order and arrangement from her mother who was extremely orderly in everything.
