Mu’taadah Starting Her Haidh With No Apparent Bleeding

Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. A mu’taadah – one who has a fixed number and time of her haidh days – had an incomplete clean period (less than 15 days).
  2. The incomplete period of tuhr was preceded and followed by some bleeding.
  3. In this case it is possible that the initial bleeding was before her haidh was due.
  4. It is furthermore possible that it was on the day her haidh was due.
  5. If it was before her haidh was due then her actual haidh starts on its specified day even though she may not be bleeding on that particular day.
  6. The ending of her haidh could also be on a day when there was no apparent bleeding.
  7. Example:
  • Her aadat is 5 days at the beginning of the month.
  • She had some bleeding a day before the month started.
  • She then went 12 days without seeing anything.
  • On the 13th day she had some bleeding.
  • Her haidh remains unchanged – the first 5 days of the month.
  • She thus experienced a haidh of five days in which there was no apparent bleeding.
  • However, in effect she was bleeding as the incomplete tuhr is considered to be a state of bleeding.
  • Greater clarity on this case shall be forthcoming, Insha Allah.
