30 Days of Bleeding After Giving Birth, Followed by 15 Clean Days

Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. A woman gave birth to her first child. This was her first nifaas.

She bled for 30 days, and the bleeding then stopped.

After the 45th day from birth the bleeding resumed.

Her nifaas in this case is just 30 days.

The tuhr here was complete. It was a complete 15 days.

It, therefore, separates the bleeding before and after it.

Thus, the two periods of bleeding cannot be considered to be one long stretch of bleeding.

  1. Then if the second period of bleeding reaches the nisaab (stipulated period) of haidh, that is it fulfils the requirements of haidh, it will be haidh.
  2. Otherwise, it will be istihaadhah.
