The Birth of Ibraahim Bin Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)
At the time of Hazrat Ibraahim’s birth, the wife of Abu Raafi’, Salamah was with Hazrat Maariyah. She said to her husband, “Go and inform Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) that Maariyah has given birth to a boy.”
On hearing the good news, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) became very happy and gave Abu Raafi’ a slave and some clothing.
On the seventh day, Aqeeqah was made, and the baby was named Ibraahim. The weight of his hair in silver was given in sadaqah, while the hair was buried.
He was given to a woman named Umme Saif for suckling. Her husband was Abu Saif, a blacksmith.
Allah, Allah! Everyone has love for their children. In fact, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said that the person who does not show affection to his children, Allah has removed mercy from his heart. In spite of Abu Saif’s house being at a distance, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) would go there to visit his beloved child.
