The Mother of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu Anhuma)

• Hazrat Abu Hurairah is a Sahaabi. May Allah be pleased with him.
• He would speak to his mother about Deen in an effort to make her accept Islam.
• One day, his mother said something about the Deen of Imaan which broke the heart of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu).
• He came crying to Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam).
• He said: “Yaa Rasulallah! Please make Du’aa for my mother, that Allah Ta’ala grants her Hidaayat.”
• Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) made Du’aa: “O Allah! Please guide the mother of Abu Hurairah!”
• Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) returned home happily.
• The door was closed, and he heard the sound of water dropping, like someone having a bath.
• Hearing the sound of him coming, his mother said loudly: “Stay where you are.”
• After having a bath, she opened the door and proclaimed: “Ash-hadu allaa ilaaha Illallaah, wa anna Muhammadar Rasulallah!”
• So overjoyed Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) became that he involuntarily started to cry.
• In this emotional state he returned to Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and related to him what had transpired.
• Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) expressed Shukr unto Allah Ta’ala.
• He then requested Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) to make Du’aa that he and his mother become attached to Muslims and Muslims become attached to them.
• Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) made this Du’aa.

Lessons

1. Look at the benefit of pious children!
2. Ladies! Teach your children knowledge of the Deen. Through them, your Deen too will become corrected.
