A Mother’s Action in Pregnancy Bearing Effect on the Expectant Child

There is a story written in the kitaabs. A couple came to terms to make Taubah from all sins and not to indulge in any sin in the future so that a pious child be born.

Accordingly, they observed their pledge. In this state the wife fell pregnant. A child was born. The child was very pious and blessed.

One day, the child stole a fruit from a shop. The husband questioned the wife: “Speak the truth. Where did this come from? What produced this evil effect on the child?”

She explained that there was a branch of a fruit tree of the neighbours hanging into their yard. When she was expecting she picked a fruit from the tree and ate it. The husband commented: “Yes, our son stealing is the consequence of that which you did. Today the bitter fruits of it have become apparent.”
