Essential Etiquettes After Haj That Many Fail to Observe

One Should Not be Proud About and Publicize One’s Haj
- Prior to commencing your Haj journey, you should form a sincere intention.
- If Haj is made for name and fame, or to be called ‘Haaji’ (or Haaja) then there will be no thawaab for that Haj.
- Commonly, those who have performed Haj are in the habit of speaking about their Haj when sitting with others and they exaggerate the account.
- Their purpose is to publicize to others that they are Haajis.
- Sometimes they speak about the journey to Haj; sometimes about the money they spent, whereas all this talk spoils the thawaab gained for the Haj.
- Allah Ta’ala castigates the kaafir who says:
يَقُوْلُ اَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا
“The kaafir spends in charity and goes about bragging about it.”
- If someone enquires or there is some sincere good in speaking about one’s Haj then there is no problem in this.
- It is, however, very evil to speak about your Haj when there is no beneficial purpose in it or out of pride and to seek acclaim.
