Another Example of an Incomplete Tuhr in Nifaas
Reading Time: < 1 minute
Upon giving birth to her first child a woman bled for 30 days.
The bleeding resumed before 15 days passed by.
The tuhr was incomplete (tuhr-e-naaqis), hence it was as if the bleeding did not stop on the 30th day.
So, in effect she bled for more than 40 days.
Her nifaas is, therefore, 40 days.
Ending nifaas without having any apparent bleeding prior to the end is valid, just like in haidh. See: Mu’taadah Starting Her Haidh With No Apparent Bleeding.
The second spell of bleeding that is beyond 40 days, is istihaadhah.
A cycle of haidh does not immediately follow nifaas. Hence, the 41st day cannot be haidh.
There must be a complete clean period between nifaas and haidh. In the above case there wasn’t.
