Intention in Qadha Fasts

  1. When keeping your Qadha fasts it is not necessary to specify the day and date.
  2. Saying, “I am keeping the Qadha Fast of so-and-so date,” is not required.
  3. It suffices to fast the number of days of Qadha.
  4. However, if there are Qadha fasts for two different Ramadhaans, then it is necessary to specify the year.
  5. For example, one should make Niyyat in this manner: “I am keeping my Qadha Fast of last year”, or “…the year 1446 AH”.
