The Universal Command to Seek Allah Ta’ala’s Protection

You should know that Allah Ta’ala’s statement “A’oothu Billaahi”, is a command to His servants to say it.

It is not restricted to a particular person. The command is universal. For this reason, Allah Ta’ala has narrated Isti’aathah from the Ambiya and the Awliya. This shows that it is obligatory for all of creation to seek the protection of Allah.
