Boys and Girls of Today
Boys and girls of sixteen and seventeen nowadays jibe about their romantic experiences, thrilling memoirs and prurient reminiscences with an alarming want of sobriety and reticence, and parents getting an occasional ear in such trash, emotional explosions shiver in their shoes and mind their own P’s and Q’s, lest one fine day they should find themselves caricatured and satired in their sons’ or daughters’ immodest experiences.
Their young ones flippancy and rudeness, their cavalier attitude to their elders, their contemptuous disregard of morals and religion, their jerky, jolting style of living, their strange tastes and appetites, their amazing capacity for self-deception, their revolt against all existing institutions, their excessive fondness of their own fads and fancies, their indulgence in noise, and their lack of propriety in dress and decorum in speech, is a sign that the youth have thrown their destiny to Satan the Devil.
