The Mother of Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbaas (Radhiyallahu Anhum)
Reading Time: < 1 minute
- The mother of Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbaas was known as Umme Fazl.
- She was the wife of Hazrat Abbaas (Radhiyallahu anhu), the uncle of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam).
- Her name was Lubaabah.
- She was the daughter of Haarith.
- In the Qur’aan Shareef it comes that those Muslims residing in kaafir lands and are unable to worship Allah Ta’ala there, they should leave those lands and live elsewhere. If they do not, then they will be very sinful. Allah Ta’ala then exempted minors and women who do not know the routes of travelling and lack bravery and courage. Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbaas (Radhiyallahu anhuma) says that among these weak people were me and my mother. I was a child and she was a female.
Lessons
- Look at the wonder of her heart, she disliked living among the kuffaar.
- However, she was helpless, hence Allah Ta’ala took pity over her and saved her from becoming sinful.
- Ladies! You too should always keep a firm intention in your heart of practising according to the Deen.
- Then there is hope of your helplessness being pardoned.
- And if you do not resolve in your heart to practise on the Deen, then you will not be able to save yourself from sin.
