Adding Water, Medication or Animal Milk to the Milk of a Woman

1. If the milk of a woman was diluted with water and a baby was given the mixture to drink, then the determinant for establishing milk-ties will be the quantity of the milk.
2. If the milk was more than the water or proportionately equal then the woman has become the milk-mother of the infant and all milk-relations become haraam upon the child.
3. If the water was more than the milk, then no rule comes into effect. The woman does not become the mother of the infant.
4. The same rules apply if some medication was added to the water. If the milk was more or equal in volume to the medication, then milk-ties are not established.
5. If the medication was more, then no ties are established.
6. The above rules also apply to goat or cow or camel or any animal’s milk mixed with the milk of a human.
