Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. After khilaal of the fingers make masah of the entire head once.
  2. The method of masah of the head is to wet both hands, place the fingers on the front and top of the head – right hand on right side of the head and left hand on left side of the head – whilst covering the sides of the head with the palms, and pass both hands from the front of the head above the ears till the back, and then draw them from the back to the front where one started.
  3. Then make masah of the ears.
  4. The manner of making masah of the ears is to place the little finger into the holes of the ears, then pass the shahaadat fingers, that is, the index fingers through the contours of the ears – right index finger for right ear and left index finger for left ear – moving upwards then downwards, and lastly passing the thumbs on the back of the ears.
  5. Then make masah of the nape with the back of the fingers.
  6. Masah should not be made of the throat. This is bad and forbidden.
  7. There is no need to take fresh water, that is, to wet the fingers again when making masah of the ears.
  8. The leftover wetness on the hands after making masah of the head suffices for the masah of the ears.
