  1. It is sunnat for a woman to place a pad when it is her haidh days.
  2. The Fuqaha have written that it is furthermore mustahab for a thayyibah (non-virgin) to keep a pad placed even during her clean days.
  3. Salaat performed without the pad will be permissible.
  4. It is sunnat to apply musk or some other fragrance to the pad to mask the odour of the menstrual blood.
  5. It is Makrooh (Tahreemi, that is, forbidden) to place something inside the farj (vagina), such as a tampon, as this resembles intercourse with the hand.
