Wudhu in Conditions We Dislike
Reading Time: < 1 minute
It is reported from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Should I not show you that by virtue of which Allah effaces wrongs and raises stages?” The Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu anhum) replied: “Do tell us, O Rasool of Allah.”
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “ Making wudhu properly in conditions we dislike…”

Notes
- In this Hadeeth such acts are mentioned by virtue of which Allah Al-Quddoos showers His Grace and Munificence upon His servants by effacing sins recorded in their Book of Deeds and conferring them with increased stages and ranks in Jannat.
- The first act is wudhu.
- Like that, wudhu is a precondition for Namaaz (Salaat) and essential.
- Therefore, whoever reads Namaaz will certainly make wudhu, irrespective of how difficult it may be and how the weather is.
- However, here in the Hadeeth, a speciality of wudhu is alluded to.
- Sometimes due to a severity, such as sickness or extreme cold weather, wudhu is not done carefully.
- Firstly, a person may force himself in such circumstances to keep his wudhu for two or three Salaats putting himself and his health under pressure.
- Or if a fresh wudhu is made for each Salaat, then it is done without consideration for the Sunan and Mustahabbaat.
- The wudhu is not done perfectly.
- Germane to such occasions, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) says that if in conditions which we naturally dislike wudhu is made with complete observance of the Aadaab (etiquettes), Sunan and Mustahabbaat, and all the parts to be washed in wudhu are properly washed thrice, then this will open the Door of Divine Grace.
