The Sister of Haisoor

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In the story of Hazrat Musa (Alaihis Salaam) and Hazrat Khizr (Alaihis Salaam) which appears in the Qur’aan Shareef, it is mentioned that Hazrat Khizr (Alaihis Salaam) killed a boy upon the instruction of Allah Ta’ala. Shocked, Hazrat Musa (Alaihis Salaam) demanded to know, “What wrong did this boy do for you to kill him?!”

Hazrat Khizr (Alaihis Salaam) explained, “If this boy reached the aged of maturity, he would have become a kaafir. His parents are Believers. There was fear of them reneging from Imaan out of love for their child. Therefore, in their best interests, he was killed. Now, in his place Allah Ta’ala will give them a girl who will be purified of wrongs. She will be a source of abundant goodness for them.”

It is written in the kitaabs that such a girl was born to them, and she was married to a Nabi. From the progeny of this couple, 70 Ambiya were born.

The name of the boy that was slain was Haisoor. This girl was his sister.
