Being Alone with a Ghair Mahram

Reading Time: < 1 minute

It is narrated by Hazrat Umar (Radhiyallahu anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “When a man is alone with a woman, then the third person present is Shaitaan.” (Tirmithi)

It is haraam for a man to be sitting alone with a ghair mahram woman – a woman who is neither his wife nor a very close female relative.

Experience and the norm bear testimony that in such cases caution will never be exercised.
