Concession of Not Fasting when Travelling

- If you are on a journey (safar), it is permissible for you not to fast.
- Journey (Safar) in the Shariah means travelling with the intention of going to a place which is a distance of 77.5km or more.
- When travelling this distance, a person also makes Qasr of Salaat, that is he performs only 2 Rakaats Fardh instead of the 4 Rakaats of Zuhr, Asr and Isha.
