Some Accounts of the Profound Affection of Hazrat Aishah (Radhiyallahu Anha) for Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)
Just as Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) had profound affection for Hazrat Aishah, so too did the love for Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) perforate her heart and life. As far as possible, she tried to keep Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) comfortable and she occupied herself with his khidmat.
1. Once, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “O Aishah, I know well when you are happy and when you are unhappy. When you are happy then on taking an oath you say, ‘I take an oath by the Rabb of Muhammad.’ And when you are unhappy, then you do not mention my name, rather, you say, ‘I take an oath by the Rabb of Ibrahim (Alaihis Salaam).’”
Hazrat Aishah replied: “That is correct, when I am unhappy, I do not mention your name with my tongue, but love for you is embedded my heart.”
2. One-night Hazrat Aishah realised that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was not in bed, and she became suspicious that he had gone to the house of another wife. As she did not have a lamp, she felt around with her hands, and she felt the feet of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as he was in sajdah. Then she said with a sigh, “What thoughts are we in, and what state you are in!?”
