  1. There are 3 types of bleeding affecting a woman.
  2. They are: haidh (menstrual bleeding), nifaas (postpartum bleeding) and istihaadhah (irregular bleeding).
  3. They have a starting point and an end point.
  4. The starting point is when blood becomes visible.
  5. The meaning of the blood becoming visible is that it leaves the farj-e-daakhil (inner genital tract) and comes to the farj-e-khaarij (outer genital tract).
  6. The farj-e-daakhil is round, equivalent to the anus or the urethral opening.
  7. The farj-e-khaarij is elongated, akin to the labia or the foreskin.
  8. The starting of the bleeding could also be when the blood aligns with the edge of the inner genital tract.
