Just as Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) had profound affection for Hazrat Aishah, so too did the love for Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) perforate her heart and life. As far as possible, she tried to keep Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) comfortable and she occupied herself with his khidmat.

1. Once, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “O Aishah, I know well when you are happy and when you are unhappy. When you are happy then on taking an oath you say, ‘I take an oath by the Rabb of Muhammad.’ And when you are unhappy, then you do not mention my name, rather, you say, ‘I take an oath by the Rabb of Ibrahim (Alaihis Salaam).’”

Hazrat Aishah replied: “That is correct, when I am unhappy, I do not mention your name with my tongue, but love for you is embedded my heart.”

2. One-night Hazrat Aishah realised that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was not in bed, and she became suspicious that he had gone to the house of another wife. As she did not have a lamp, she felt around with her hands, and she felt the feet of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as he was in sajdah. Then she said with a sigh, “What thoughts are we in, and what state you are in!?”

3. Once, according to the command of Allah, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) told his wives, “If you want wealth of this world and comforts, then I will happily divorce you. And if you want the happiness of the Rasool of Allah and the comfort of the Aakhirat, then bear the difficulties of this world and remain in my nikaah.”

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) told Hazrat Aishah of this command first, and due to her young age and inexperience he told her to consult with her parents first, before giving an answer.

(Rasulullah, Sallallahu alaihi wasallam, understood that her parents would never give permission for separation, whilst perhaps due to her young age and inexperience she might choose separation.)

But marvel at the understanding of Hazrat Aishah (Radhiyallahu anha), that she immediately responded, “O Rasulullah, is there any need to ask anyone in matters regarding you!? I choose Allah, His Rasool and the Aakhirat. (I can never accept leaving your blessed company!) But do not tell the other wives of my answer.”

4. Hazrat Aishah (Radhiyallahu anha) did not have any children, but she neither thought about it and nor was she grieved over it as she had the love of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and did not concern herself about other things. She was so occupied with Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) that these types of thoughts could not grieve her.

She had a nephew by the name of Abdullah, and because of this, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) sometimes would call her Umme Abdillah.
