The Daughter of Hazrat Shah Ibn Shuja’ Kirmaani (Rahmatullahi Alaih)
Reading Time: < 1 minute
- Hazrat Shah Ibn Shuja’ Kirmaani (Rahmatullahi alaih) was a king who renounced the world.
- He had a daughter.
- A king sent a proposal for the daughter.
- Hazrat Shah Kirmaani rejected the proposal.
- He married his daughter to a poor and pious boy who he had seen performing his Namaaz beautifully.
- When the daughter came to her husband’s home she saw a dried roti in a container.
- She asked: “What is this?”
- The boy replied that it was the leftover of his supper and that he kept it to break his fast.
- Hearing this she moved backwards.
- The boy said: “I knew that the daughter of the king is not going to be contented with my poverty.”
- She replied: “The daughter of the king is not dissatisfied with your poverty. She is unhappy because you have no trust in Allah. And I am surprised at my father who said that you are a good young boy.”
- “Whoever does not have trust in Allah, how can he be good!?”
- The boy started putting forward excuses.
- She replied: “You know better your excuses. Either I remain, or this roti.”
- The boy immediately gave the roti in charity.
- Then she sat down in her new home.
Lessons
- She was a female, (but bestowed with such a high calibre of Tawakkul).
- At least learn some Sabr from her.
- And decrease your lust for money and possessions.
