Wudhu Breaking and Haidh and Nifaas Commencing

  1. The excretions: blood, urine and faeces nullify wudhu when becoming visible, that is when these align with the opening of their outlets.
  2. Thus, when urine or blood align with the opening of the urethra, the wudhu breaks.
  3. Similarly, if faeces or blood align with the opening of the rectum, the wudhu breaks.
  4. In like manner, when blood aligns with the inner genital tract, wudhu breaks and haidh or nifaas can also commence.
  5. The additional condition for haidh and nifaas commencing is that the blood is saheeh.
  6. In haidh this means that the bleeding lasts for at least 3 days and it affects a female of 9 years of age or older.
  7. In nifaas the condition is that the bleeding is when most of the baby has emerged.
