Zakaat – A Rukn of Islam

Zakaat, like Salaat, is also a Rukn, that is an outstanding feature of the incumbent injunctions of Islam. In many Aayaat the injunction of giving Zakaat, reward for giving, and punishment for not giving are mentioned.
In most Aayaat Zakaat is commanded together with Salaat. All these Aayaat can easily be found in the Qur’aan Majeed. One who does not know Arabic can find the Aayaat in a translation of the Qur’aan. Here, I will only write Ahadeeth pertaining to Zakaat.
