The Characteristics of the Inhabitants of Jannah
“The inhabitants of Jannah will enter Jannah, with the Height of Adam ‘Alaihis Salaam, sixty cubits tall (90 feet or about 27 meters), the Beauty of Yusuf Alaihis Salaam, the Age of ‘Isa ‘Alaihis Salaam and the Language of Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam’”. (Sifatul Jannah of Imam Ibn Abid Dunya)
The Bracelets and the Garments of Jannah
In the eternal Jannah that they will enter, they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls. Their garments there will be of silk. (Surah Faatir: 33)
Hoorun Ien (the Maidens of Jannah)
Hoorun Ien will be in Jannah to serve you. They will be created from Saffron. When the present creation of mankind (which is created from sand) has the best of forms and beauty, then you can imagine the beauty of women created from saffron! In beauty these women will be like Rubies and small Pearls. The comparison between the hoors and rubies is in transparency. A person can see through a ruby and know what is on the other side. In the same way, a person will be able to see through the hoors because of the cleanliness and delicate nature of their skin and body.
These women will be Pure from all external impurities such as menstruation, urine, excreta, and saliva. They will also be Free from all evil internal qualities such as malice, hypocrisy, swearing, evil character, etc. Thus, they will not have within them the smallest amount of disobedience to their husbands. There will be no jealousy between co-wives. They will all be equal in age, which will ensure that they get along with one another and make the believer’s life peaceful.
If a woman from Jannah were to look towards the world, she would fill the earth with the fragrance of Musk and [her beauty] would Outshine the light of the sun and moon (Bukhari). [The Maidens of Jannat Paradise By: Moulana Abdullah Nana].
The Lads of Jannah
Lads of eternal youth will serve them. When you see them, you will think that they are scattered pearls. (Surah Insaan: 19)
The Market of Jannah
In Jannah there is a market to which the people will come every Friday. The northern wind will blow and shower Fragrance on their Faces and Clothes and, consequently, it will enhance their Beauty and Loveliness. They will then return to their wives who will also have increased in their Beauty and Loveliness, and their families will say to them: ‘We take an oath in Allah’s Name that your beauty and loveliness have been enhanced since you left.’ Thereupon they will reply: ‘We take an oath in Allah’s Name that your beauty and loveliness have also doubled since we were last together.’ (Muslim)
The Everlasting Bliss for the Inmates of Jannah
- (On the Day of Qiyamah, Allah will say to the people of Taqwa): “O my Bondsmen (Servants)! You shall have no fear today, neither will you grieve; those who believed in Our Aayat and were obedient. You and your spouses should enter into Jannah happily. Bowls and cups of gold will be passed around between them and in Jannah there shall be whatever the heart desires and whatever pleases the eye. You will live there forever. (Surah Zukhruf: 68-71)
- Verily, the righteous (Mu’mineen) shall be enjoying bounties while looking on from couches. You will recognise the radiance of bounties on their faces. They will be given pure sealed wine to drink, the seal of which is musk. It is for this that competitors should compete. Its mixture shall be of Tasneem, a spring from which those close to Allah drink. (Surah Mutaffifeen: 22-28)
- When the dwellers of Jannah enter Jannah, an announcer will call: (You have a promise from Allah that) You will live therein and you will never die; you will stay healthy therein and you will never fall ill; you will stay young and you will never become old; you will be under constant bliss and you will never feel miserable.” (Muslim)
The above Hadeeth is a clear indication that the present-day chilling trials, tribulations, misery, hardships, sicknesses, diseases, fear, turmoil, etc., etc. will sound totally alien in Jannah!
Jannah is full of numerous other bounties about which Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala alone knows.
…to be continued, Insha Allah.
