Reciting the Qur’aan with Tarteel

It is Sunnah to recite the Qur’aan with Tarteel in view of Allah Ta’ala’s declaration:
“And recite the Qur’aan with Tarteel.”
Tarteel is to articulate the letters and words clearly.
The benefit in this is that when the Qiraat is in this manner the reciter understands the meanings of the words he is reciting, and the listener also understands the meanings. If he recites fast, neither will he understand nor will he be making the next person understand.
Tarteel is, therefore, best.
Abu Daawood narrated with his chain from Ibn Umar that Rasulullah, Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said:
“It will be said (on the Day of Qiyaamah) to the one who knows the Qur’aan: ‘Recite and ascend. And recite with Tarteel as you recited on earth.’”
