10 Days Bleeding, 20 Days Clean and 11 Days Bleeding in Nifaas

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A woman has a set number of days for her nifaas which is 20 days.

She gave birth and bled for 10 days followed by 20 clean days.

This was followed by 11 days of bleeding.

The second period of bleeding started within the 40-day nifaas period. However, it went beyond the 40-day period.

In this case, it is like she bled for 41 days.

In the case of bleeding surpassing 40 days the previous nifaas pattern will be the determinant.

Since her set number of days is 20 days, her nifaas for this birth will also be 20 days, regardless of the 20th day having no apparent bleeding.

The rest, which is 21 days, is istihaadhah.

The following diagram depicts the above scenario:

10B—20C—11B = 41days

(B=Bleeding, C=Clean)
