Protocol for Appearing before the King of Kings

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Subjects in a kingdom need to present themselves in the royal court to listen to the proclamations of the king and to present their petitions. Hence, they are bound to fulfil all the protocol, etiquettes and acts of stately honour when appearing in the king’s court. Observance of these protocol and etiquettes are considered to be part and parcel of the petition.

But just as there is a need for a tongue to express the petition and an ear to listen to the royal decree, similarly, there is the need to wash the hands, face and feet, and tidy the clothes when entering the king’s court. All these are considered to be integral to the actual petition.

Thus, when going to princes and kings, or when a person intends doing a grand and pristine work, these parts of the body are cleansed in view of dust and dirt generally settling on these parts of the body, as they are commonly left uncovered, and when meeting too they are exposed.

[Therefore, when appearing before the King of kings – Allah Jalla Shaanuhu, it is absolutely befitting that wudhu be made.]
