Labbaik

Haakim, Baihaqi and others have reported from Ibn Abbaas (Radhiyallahu anhuma) the incident of the Call of Ibraheem (Alaihis Salaam).

After building the Baitullah he was commanded [by Allah Ta’ala] to call out for Haj. He asked: “How far will my voice go?” Allah Ta’ala promised to make his voice reach [every human born and to be born till the Day of Qiyaamah]. Everyone heard his call.

Buzrugs [Elders of the Deen] have said that whoever said, “Labbaik” or whoever’s Rooh said, “Labbaik”, that person is blessed with making Haj. Whoever did not respond [to Hazrat Ibraheem ‘s call] does not go [for Haj].
