Taking an Oath, “I must not be given the Taufeeq of reciting the Kalimah when I die.”

Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. A qasam, (oath) will not come into effect if a person says: “I must not be given the Taufeeq of reciting the Kalimah when I die.”
  2. The purport of this statement is that “I should die with Imaan, but I must not be able to recite the Kalimah verbally.!”
  3. When dying it is outstanding for the Kalimah to be recited verbally.
  4. If the meaning of such a statement is taken in places to mean that the person should lose his Imaan when dying, then the ruling of it is what was mentioned in the mas-alah, Terrible Oaths, But which Come into Effect’.
  5. That is, the oath takes effect and a kaffaarah will have to be given if it is broken.
