Reading Time: < 1 minute
  1. A person took a vow to give X amount of money (e.g. R5000) in charity. The amount stated will have to be given in charity.
  2. If one does not have the stated amount in one’s possession, one only has R2000 for example, then the R2000 will have to be given in charity.
  3. However, if one is in possession of material objects and other wealth besides the money, then the value of these items should be calculated. If the value of these together with the cash amount to the stated amount, then the stated amount in the vow will have to be given.
  4. If, besides the R2000 cash, the price of the other possessions equals R1000, then R3000 will have to be given in charity.
