When to Make Intention for a Qadha Fast

- For Qadha fasts it is necessary to make the intention before Subh Saadiq, that is during the hours of the night.
- If the intention is made after Subh Saadiq, when it is already Fajr time or later, then the fast will not be a Qadha fast. It will be a Nafl fast.
- The Qadha fast will have to be kept the next day or thereafter.
