Hazrat Ibraheem (Alaihis Salaam) saw a dream of him slaughtering his son. In view of the dreams of the Ambiya being true, he took his son to the place of slaughter. There, he related his dream to his son.

“O My Beloved Son! I saw a dream that I was slaughtering you. What have you to say about it?”

Subhaanallah! What a wonderful and simple way of teaching, the Ambiya (Alaihimus Salaam) adopted! The one addressed was not commanded. He was asked.

This distinct way of Ta’leem makes the one addressed consent voluntarily. This method of teaching is highly efficacious.

In spite of Hazrat Ibraheem (Alaihis Salaam) having resolved to slaughter his son, he did not say: “I saw such a dream. I have brought you here to slaughter you. Get ready!”

He phrased something which is naturally harsh and dreadful in such an easy way, “I saw this dream, tell me what you think?” As if he was consulting him and asking him for the interpretation of the dream.

Even now, if anyone adopts this way of Ta’leem, it will be very effective and beneficial to others.
