“I Have Never Had a Better Wife”
Once, sometime after the death of Hazrat Khadijah, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was sitting at home when the sister of Hazrat Khadijah (Radhiyallahu anha) called from outside the door. Thinking that it was the voice of Hazrat Khadijah, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was shocked, but then he realised that it was her sister.
One day, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) praised Hazrat Khadijah so much that Hazrat Aishah said: “How long are you going to you remember this one old woman of the Quraish when Allah has given you wives better than her?”
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) became angry and said, “No! I have never had a better wife than her. She believed in me and embraced Imaan when all the people rejected what I said and they didn’t accept Imaan. She helped me with her wealth at such a time when I had no support from the wealth of anyone else. And Allah has given me children from her, while the other wives have been deprived of children.”
Hazrat Aishah says, “I then took an oath in my heart that I will never say anything bad about Khadijah (Radhiyallahu anha).”
