Return to Makkah Mu’azzamah from Mina and Tawaaf-e-Wida’

  1. It is waajib for those who wish to return home immediately when coming back to Makkah Mu’azzamah [from Mina] to make Tawaaf-e-Wida’ [the Farewell Tawaaf].
  2. Leaving out Tawaaf-e-Wida’ without any proper reason makes a damm incumbent.
  3. A Nafl Tawaaf performed after Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat takes the place of Tawaaf-e-Wida’.
  4. If a person went beyond the Meeqaat without performing Tawaaf-e-Wida’ then a damm is waajib on him.
  5. To relieve a person of the damm for not performing Tawaaf-e-Wida’ if he/she puts on an Ihraam for Umrah, comes back into the Haram, performs Umrah first and then Tawaaf-e-Wida’ then the damm falls away.
  6. It is forbidden to come back into the Haram without Ihraam to perform Umrah.
  7. If a woman is in haidh when it is time for her to return home, then it is not necessary for her to wait [for her haidh to be complete]. She can return home without performing Tawaaf-e-Wida’.
